They are just as apparent in astronomy and astrophysics, for example, as they are in quantum mechanics. Davies notes that "Quantum mechanics is one of those subjects that usually comes right in the end, even though it can seem horribly obscure when only half-learned.
This particular science is filled with mathematical "maps of hell" written in strange notation seemingly incomprehensible to all but sorcerers or geniuses. I am not a physicist. Nor do I have the time or resources or background to pursue a full exposition of this important topic.
